Judge Ursula Ungaro-Benages sentenced a medical equipment company owner, Rene Rodriguez of DC Medical Services, to prison for defrauding Medicare of $2.2 million in payments for medical equipment never provided to patients, all of which must be repaid.
Documents show Rodriguez submitted numerous claims to Medicare in 2006 for medical equipment never ordered by physicians and never provided to Medicare patients.
